Caldas da Rainha is a little town in the suburbs of Lisbon, quite famous for its creative fervor, Bordallo Pinheiro being its maximum exponent. The city is also home to a series of museums named Centro de Artes, showcasing local sculptors from the first half of the XXth century. A dictatorship ruled Portugal throughout that time, reflected in the sculptures' austerity and massive style. I took those brutalist aesthetics as my starting point, going from a big, solid block and deconstructing it into a multi-layered logotype.
